Molecular Grade Water Characteristics and Applications
Molecular Grade Water is distilled, as well as free of DNases, RNases, and proteases. It is suitable for use in PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, mass spectrometry and RNA isolation (specifically RNA elution); all of which require high-quality water, free of endotoxins.
Molecular Grade Variations
Molecular grade water may have one or more of the following properties:
DEPC-Treated: Toxic agents such as diethylpyrocarbonate (DEPC) are also absent, which could interfere with any enzymatic reactions.
Nuclease-Free: Ionized, filtered and autoclaved.
RT-PCR Grade Water: Free of genomic (eukaryotic and prokaryotic) DNA, endonucleases, and exonucleases.
Ultrapure: 0.1µm membrane filtered.
