Human myoglobin has 152 residues. Two myoglobin variants were found. The myoglobin locus mapped to 22q11-22q13. The myoglobin gene is about 10.5kb long and contains two introns as in the case with hemoglobin genes. Myoglobin may serve a variety of functions in muscular oxygen supply, such as O(2) storage, facilitated O(2) diffusion, and myoglobin-mediated oxidative phosphorylation.

Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded): 1-2ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with 1.2% sodium acetate. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
